Thanksgiving is our favorite holiday and we thoroughly enjoyed this one. We want to cultivate a heart of thankfulness in all seasons, but it is very special to set aside a day or two to particularly focus on it. The family, incredible food, and beautiful fall colors here in the Northwest definitely are a highlight of the celebrations, as well. With so many blessings and the festive mood, it's rather easy to sing and find things to be thankful for.
Not all days are like that, though, yet God calls us to give thanks in ALL things. We love how this old hymn highlights both the happy things and the hard things...all part of God's goodness to us and none without His grace and love, working all things together for good to those who love Him, according to HIS purpose. We have certainly experienced the blessing (and trial) of the "no" or "wait" answer as well as the "yes", and we look back with so much gratefulness.
